Joining a Course

Joining a Course

How an invited student or teacher joins their school's course on Aviationlex.

What it is

Schools invite members by email. Each invitation contains a personal one-time code (format EDU-XXXXXXXX) and a sign-up link. Using that link creates your account and automatically enrols you into the correct course with the correct role — no manual setup.

Step by step

Open the invitation

You receive an email from your school with a button/link of the form https://aviationlex.com/register?code=EDU-…. Open it.

Create your account

Complete the normal sign-up (name, email, a password of at least 8 characters, date of birth, your Aviation Profile, and the terms). You can also sign up with Google or Apple. Confirm your email if prompted.

You're enrolled automatically

The moment your account is active, the code is redeemed in the background: you are added to your school's organisation and assigned to the course and role the invitation was created for. Open the Enterprise app and your course appears under My Courses.

Good to know

  • The code is the key. Binding is by code only — you do not have to sign up with the exact email address the invitation was sent to. Keep the code private; anyone with it can claim that seat.
  • One-time use. Once a code is redeemed it cannot be used again. Re-opening the link after you have already joined simply takes you to your account.
  • Your benefits. Enterprise membership gives your account the access your school has arranged (typically the full library and the queries/quota set for your organisation).

Troubleshooting

⚠️

"I signed up but see no course." Membership is assigned centrally. Log out and back in once; if the course still doesn't appear, the code may not have been redeemed — contact your course administrator, who can check the assignment.

⚠️

"The course is full." Each course has a fixed number of student and teacher seats. If your seat limit is already used up, the join is rejected. Ask your course administrator to free a seat or raise the limit — see Seat Limits.

"My code says it's invalid or expired." Codes can expire (validity is set by your school). Ask your administrator to send a fresh invitation.
